Release Date Of Elle Fanning’s Animated Film ‘Leap!’ Pushed, Set For Labour Day Debut

Sorry fans, ‘Leap!’ is moving to Labour Day weekend. The Weinstein Company has shifted the release date for Elle Fanning’s animated film. Earlier, the film was slated to premier on April 21, but now it will open in the cinemas on September 4. Helmed by Eric Summer and Eric Warin, the film also features Nat Wolff, Maddie Ziegler, Carly Rae Jepsen, Kate McKinnon, and Mel Brooks. Jepsen, Demi Lovato, and Sia have composed the music for the film.

TWC Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein quoted in a press release, “I can’t tell you about how much I love ‘Leap!’ and that’s why I’m moving it.” “We have made the decision to move back to Labor Day and build the awareness and excitement within our audience. As always, I want to do what is best for the film, which I think is the best animated film I’ve ever made, and test audiences have agreed,” he added.

‘Leap!’ narrates the story of an 11-year-old orphan Felicie (voiced by Fanning) and her best friend, Victor (Wolff), who desire to move to Paris and chase their dreams of becoming a dancer and inventor, respectively. The two escape and realize that their dreams are not sufficient to overcome the challenges. ‘Leap!’ has been jointly produced by Nicolas Duval Adassovsky, Yann Zenou of Quad Productions, and Laurent Zeitoun of Main Journey. The film will have a Bentonville Film Festival debut on Saturday.
