Robert De Niro To Join The Cast Of The Joker Movie?

Veteran actor Robert De Niro is in talks with the makers to join Joaquin Phoenix in the upcoming Joker movie. Robert is reportedly in final negotiations to join the upcoming solo flick for Batman's long-term foe which will be written and directed by The Hangover's Todd Phillips. The film is said to be a "darker" approach to the DC comics’ character than we've seen portrayed by Jared Leto in other recent Warner Bros films.

As per the reports, the 74-year-old, if roped in, will be playing a talk-show host who plays a part in driving Phoenix’s character to go mad and become the Clown Prince of Crime. The movie is said to be about the origin of Joker and how he becomes the notorious villain that he is. The film would also be set in the '80s.

As said, the film would follow the origins of the Joker more than the usual superhero film. Moreover, if we believe the reports, Frances Conroy will essay the role of the Joker's mum. Well, we all are quite excited about this flick and just can’t wait to watch it.
