If recent media reports are to be trusted, actor-director Robert Duvall is quite likely to join Colin Farrell, Viola Davis and Liam Neeson in Steve McQueen and New Regency’s heist thriller ‘Widows’. Reportedly, the Falling Down actor will be seen essaying the role of Farrell’s father, who may help the widows complete the gig. The film’s production might begin this summer. The makers haven’t decided the release date as of now.

The project will be bankrolled by See-Saw Films’ Iain Canning and Emile Sherman with New Regency, 20th Century Fox and Film4 co-financing. Fox will also distribute the film. The flick is based on the British miniseries of the same name, which was written by British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award-winning writer Lynda La Plante.

The stellar cast of the movie also comprises of Andre Holland, Elizabeth Debicki, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Rodriguez and Daniel Kaluuya. On a related note, Robert was recently seen in ‘Wild Horses’. The 2015 crime film was written and directed by Robert himself.
