    Sam Taylor-Johnson bids bye to Fifty Shades’ sequels


    Director Sam Taylor-Johnson has announced she won’t be returning for the sequels of Fifty Shades of Grey’s sequels. In a statement to Deadline, Taylor-Johnson said she greatly appreciated the opportunity to direct the first film but she will not come back for Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.

    "Directing Fifty Shades of Grey has been an intense and incredible journey for which I am hugely grateful. I have Universal to thank for that," she said in an exclusive statement given to Deadline. "I forged close and lasting relationships with the cast, producers and crew and most especially, with Dakota and Jamie. While I will not be returning to direct the sequels, I wish nothing but success to whosoever takes on the exciting challenges of films two and three," she added. The second movie in the series, Fifty Shades Darker is expected to arrive in 2017 while the third, Fifty Shades Freed may hit theatres in 2018.
