Sandra Bullock wins People's Choice Award for her generosity

Oscar winner Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock has been named favourite humanitarian by the People's Choice Awards for her charity works. After the destructive Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005, theSpeedstar adopted Warren Easton Charter High School, which had suffered $4 million damages due to the storm.

According to reports, Sandra had donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the school for renovation of the building and arranging new band uniforms and athletic equipment. Later talking about this philanthropic work, she told the People magazine that she "felt such a profound need to do something for them."
