    Screenwriter Mark L. Smith To Pen Script For Quentin Tarantino's 'Star Trek' movie

    Screenwriter Mark L. Smith has come on board for writing script for Quentin Tarantino's 'Star Trek' movie. Apart from directing, Quentin will also produce the flick along with J.J. Abrams. Abrams will produce the flick through his Paramount-based Bad Robot Productions.



    Mark L. Smith earlier wrote script for director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s film ‘The Revenant’ which starred Leonardo DiCaprio. Paramount is currently working on World War II thriller ‘Overlord’ which is in post-production stage. Smith has penned the script for ‘Overlord’ along with Billy Ray. The movie will be produced by J.J. Abrams.



    The first ‘Star Trek’ movie was released in 1979 which was titled ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’ and since then 13 Star Trek films have been released. The studio started working again on the franchise in 2009 when ‘Star Trek’ was released with Abrams as a director. Then came ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’ in 2013 and ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ in 2015 which too were directed by J.J. Abrams. ‘Star Trek Beyond’ released in 2016 which was directed by Justin Lin.



    Tarantino is currently busy on his ninth untitled movie which is in its pre-production stage and focuses on Manson Family murders. The movie is scheduled to release on August 2. 2019.
