    Sony Pictures May Have Abandoned Michael Pena's Thriller Inspired By Cecil Hotel Death

    Sony Pictures that recently signed Michael Pena for a thriller inspired by Cecil Hotel death may have opted to bail out of the project. If recent reports are to be believed, the studio is looking for a buyer with Pena on board. Earlier, the filmmaker had Jeremy Lovering as the director of the film, but was then replaced him with the team of Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer. 

    Brandon and Phillip Murphy had developed the script, which made it in the 2014 Black List. The description given in there read, with this specific description: “A private investigator investigates a mysterious murder at a downtown Los Angeles hotel and uncovers its dark supernatural history. Based on true events”. 

    The writers for this horror thriller 'The Bringing' is done by Evan Dickson, Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer. The movie is being produced by Matt Tolmach with Daniela Cristina Cretu and David Manpearl. This news was first broken by a Deadline Hollywood, a leading online magazine.
