    Star Wars: Han Solo Movie To Start Shooting In January Says Lawrence Kasdan

    Lawrence Kasdan has confirmed that the film based on Han Solo's origin story will start filming in January 2017. The recent Atlanta Jewish Film Festival notched up the happiness quotient of Star Wars fans, as Lawrence Kasdan revealed the shooting dates for the upcoming instalment. While in conversation with Star Wars fans, the director said Han Solo really shines and he simply loves him.

    Kasdan revealed, “My son (Jon) and I wrote the script and ... they’re ... shooting in January. And it should be fun.” He also disclosed that it is due to be released in 2018, ahead of what many fans had previously expected. “They’re actually scheduled for May. The [other Star Wars films] are falling on Christmas — Rogue One and Episode 9. Han will come before Episode 9.”

    The film, starring Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street). It will be based on a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon. Han Solo: A Star Wars Story will be released on May 25, 2018.
