Steve Carell to star in cancer drama

Actor Steve Carell is set to act in the onscreen adaptation of The Priority List: A Teacher’s Final Quest to Discover Life’s Greatest Lessons, a memoir by David Menasche. The actor will also be co-producing the movie with Charlie Hartsock and Vance DeGeneres. Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. has acquired the rights to make the screen version of the memoir.

The story of the film will revolve around a high school teacher of Miami who was informed that he only had a few months left to live after being diagnosed with brain cancer. The teacher somehow managed to extend his life through several surgeries and years of chemo sessions, but a spasm in 2012 ended his teaching career. Steve will be playing the role of the teacher in the film.
