This Is What Dev Patel Said After Being Nominated For Oscar

Recently on January 24, the 89th annual Academy Award nominations were out. In the nominations, British-Indian actor Dev Patel was also nominated in best supporting actor category for Lion helmed by Garth Davis. This is Dev’s maiden Oscar nomination.

On being nominated for the prestigious award, the actor said, "Ok, so I just received a call to say that I've been nominated for an Academy Award...To be totally honest, the news hasn't made it's way into my brain yet, but I'm looking at these beautiful smiling faces around me... Faces of the ones I love. And I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude".

Lion also received other nominations too for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress (Kidman) and Best Adapted Screenplay. The movie, which released few months ago, garnered positive response from the critics and from the audiences too. The 2017 Academy Awards ceremony will take place in Hollywood on February 26.
