    Tom Hardy Signed By Sony To Play Venom In Spider-Man Franchise

    Tom Hardy has been roped by Sony to play portray the comic book anti-hero Venom in the studio’s first ever feature-length ‘Spider-Man’ spin-off. The actor will play the original Symbiote host Eddie Brock. Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner will pen down the script for the movie.

    The movie will be directed by Ruben Fleischer, who is best known for helming Zombieland, and will be produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach along with Amy Pascal. Since it started, Venom has been one of the most popular characters of Spider-Man. Venom is an alien symbiote that requires a human host for its survival. The alien vests its victim with incredible powers. Throughout the history of Marvel Comics, Venom has appeared alongside Spider-Man, Iron Man, Deadpool, Hulk, and other Marvel Comics characters.

    The character Venom previously appeared in 2007’s Spider-Man 3 which was played by Topher Grace. We heard that the film go on floors this year and is slated to release on October 5, 2018. This is not the first time that Hardy will play a dark character in the movie. He earlier played the terrorist Bane in The Dark Knight Rises,’ the 2012 finale to Christopher Nolan's acclaimed Batman trilogy.
