The hit 2001 film, Training Day, starring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke will be getting a TV series developed by CBS. Now, Deadline has reported that Ethan is in talks with the network to reprise his big-screen role. The original film had the actor play the role of an LAPD officer named Jake Hoyt and was nominated for an Academy Award for the role.

The series will be directed by Antoine Fuqua who also directed the 2001 film. Writer Will Beall will be scripting the show. Will himself is a former LAPD detective. The producer of the movie Jerry Bruckheimer will serve as executive producer for the TV series, alongside Jonathan Littman, the writer and the director.

The movie focussed on a corrupt cop played by Denzel Washington and a rookie, played by Ethan. Speculation suggests that Ethan will be a Deputy Chief in the TV series. The actor will again team up with Denzel and Antoine for the film The Magnificent Seven.
