A 12 minutes’ footage was screened at the Magestic Hotel by Crowe himself. While WME Global has sold the U.S. rights to the film at Cannes, David Garrett’s Mister Smith Entertainment has been selling the same at international markets. Producers who initiated the production funding of this independent film are Andrew Mason and Troy Lum for Hopscotch Features, Keith Rodger for Crowe’s own Fear of God Films, along with executive producers RatPac founders James Packer and Brett Ratner. This film portrays Crowe as an Australian farmer who travels to Istanbul four years after Turkey’s Battle of Gallipoli during World War I. His sons go missing in action and Crowe tries to find them out. The film also stars Olga Kurylenko who plays the Turkish woman, a hotel owner. The Water Diviner will release in Australia on December 26 along with the nearby locations.
