    X-Men: Days of Future Past managed to secure the No. 1 position with a 90.7 million dollars debut this weekend. The movie earns a whopping 261 million dollars in the first weekend globally after 171 million dollars came from overseas.

    Because of the fantastic opening, the movie pushed Godzilla to a second place with 30.5 million dollars after squashing industry estimates a week ago. X-Men: Days of Future Past is a film, based on the fictional X-Men characters appearing in Marvel Comics. The film, directed by Bryan Singer acts as a sequel to both X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: First Class released in 2006 and 2011, respectively.

However, neither the Marvel superheroes have been able to crack the 100 million dollars mark with their openings, though all have topped 90 million dollars.
