Shruthi Questions ‘Discrimination’ Against Kannada Movies

Sruthi Hariharan’s flick Beautiful Manasugalu did fairly good at the box office, but the actor is not happy over something. The Sipaayi actress has expressed her frustration and sadness over Kannada movies not having enough screens. She let out her thoughts over her social networking site and got everyone talking.

“Bengaluru is a diverse city where Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil and other language films release and we’re happy about it. But Kannada films don’t have enough theatres/screens”, Sruthi explained. She continued by saying, “What is happening is a money-making process. We need Government intervention. We are doing everything in our means to gain their attention. Hope they wake up and do something soon”.

Shruthi tried to talk on behalf of entire Kannada film fraternity and said that it was not just about her flick as every Kannada movie faces this issue. She added that the movies that are struggling, the most are small budget films that are not part of this commercial bandwagon.
