Kasaba May Get A Revised Certification

Kasaba May Get A Revised Certification

Mammootty starrer Kasaba is an official hit with fans going crazy about the Vidheyan star donning cop character. However, the movie that hit cinemas on July 7 has found itself in hot water. One of the Mammootty’s fans has questioned the U/A certification awarded after he went with his 7-year-old nephew.

"The film had dialogues replete with expletives and double entendre, which were definitely not meant to be heard by children and were also demeaning to women. So, why mislead the audience by giving it just a U/A certification when it so easily deserved to be rated A?”, asked Kochi-based Antony Richard Jason.

He has approached High Court, which decided to view the film and asked the similar question to the CBFC officials. The court will hear the case soon before taking final decision. However, Regional Censor Board Officer A. Prathibha defended the decision to award U/A rating and said based on content of Kasaba.
