    Protest To Avenge Attack On Cine Artist Azeez Nedumangad

    A couple of mimicry, cine artists staged a protest from Manaveeyam to mark the recent attack on cine-mimicry artist Azeez Nedumangad by the organisers of a programme for whom the team had committed to perform. The protest was led by director Rajasenan who demanded that all the artists irrespective of the work they do should be given their due respect and protected. Azeez gained popularity after starring in a movie ‘Action Hero Biju’.

    Azeez and his mimicry team were to perform a show at Dharmashastha temple, Chamavila at 9.30pm on Saturday night. However, the show got delayed as some members of the team could not reach the venue on time as their flight got delayed.  A few members of the team were one hour late which agitated the organisers.

    The moment the team reached the spot, the organisers started beating the artists. Moreover, the organisers which included women also not only thrashed Azeez’s team but also his colleagues, Sunil Vellarada, Shyam Thiruvallam, Binu B Kamal, Anoop Bahuleyan, Sandhya and Ratheesh Kallara. The organisers were so perturbed that they did not leave the audience who tried to save the artists.

    The attack caused severe injuries to Mr. Azeez. He endured deep wounds on his forearm as well as suffered damage to his eardrum. Furthermore, he started vomiting and collapsed on stage. A case has been registered by Vellarada police against the organisers.
