8 Reasons Why You Can Skip Watching FAN This Weekend!
If you are a Shah Rukh Khan FAN, please don't kill me. If you're not, please don't kill me either. You see, killing is not such a good idea anyway.
So I watched FAN, first-day first show. I was pretty much excited to watch the mind-blowing performance of Shahrukh in a double role. As the film began, I was taken aback to see Gaurav Chandna mimicking Shahrukh. The film is not all bad. Go, watch it if you're a die-hard fan of Shah Rukh Khan because it is all about his fandom. This film does raise few very pertinent questions about the dedications of fans towards their stars and how they get obsessed by the idea of their idols. As a commentary on this issue, this film tries to make a few points on the same line. However, there are certain things which keep troubling while watching the film. I would enlist all of those for your reference and then run away in hiding; for sure.
So here are 12 reasons why you can skip watching FAN :
1. The double role of Shahrukh is all Shahrukh, not Gaurav or Aryan.
2. The film is a story which we all have seen or come across. The story of starstruck crazy fan and a perturbed Superstar. It's all too familiar.
3. Film has a few plotholes which just can not be ignored. That is, if you are watching the film just because you want to see your favourite star on screen. Otherwise, it's okay.
4. The first half and second half are on strikingly different tracks all of a sudden and it hardly makes sense.
5. Certain things in the film trumps the common logic like Shahrukh's dealing with his psycho fan personally when he could have gotten it taken care of.
6. All the other characters apart from Shahrukh do not have any strong presence. None of any female characters or other cast manage to leave a lasting impression.
7. The film is a negative one. So if you're planning to have a funny good-to-go watch in your nearest cinemahalls, you can surely skip this one.
8. If you need to watch Shahrukh in his full glory, only one character comes close in this film and that makes it lopsided. It is all about Gaurav, we don't get to see Aryan's side of the story.
