What can be more exciting than a Yash Raj debut, being directed by Aditya Chopra, starring opposite SRK! Anushka got overshadowed by Shah Rukh and left us wanting for more. She had this promising streak in her face that intrigued the audience. She then did a series of movies which were huddled by other characters or she was again overshadowed by her co-stars, whether it’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Dil Dhadakne Do, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil or Bombay Velvet. Anushka made a thumping come back with her first production, NH10 where she swept everyone off their feet. Anushka’s fearless eyes, toxic energy and powerful performance are absolutely making us itch for yet another solo performance by the actress. She did have an imperative role in Sultan, but let’s face it, Salman Khan inevitably became the face of the movie and Anushka despite a promising role was yet another character in the movie. Deepika too had a similar fate like Anushka who also kick started her career with SRK! She’s seen phenomenal growth, stupendous success and massive popularity among the masses, and the leggy lass has now flown to Hollywood to work with the likes of Vin Diesel. That seems like an absolutely amazing journey, handcrafted by God, which almost looks like a dream. But we think, there’s more to this dream than doing blockbusters with the Khans or friends in the fraternity. You just want to see her deliver her dialogues like it’s a cake walk with impeccable expressions and ace every frame. She’s this supremely talented woman in the industry who has the glimpse of Tabu and depth in her skills. She is this beauty with brain who can pull of a Tanu weds Manu, Ranjhana or PRDP and then leave you floored with her acting chops in Nil Battey Sannata where people compared her to the legendary Smita Patil. We can just pray that we see her doing more such amazing roles without being the second lead or supporting character. She’s got all power to be the hero of the movie!

We’ve failed Divya Dutta in the film industry. This mind-bogglingly talented woman has somehow become the face of all movies, or let’s say all good movie, but why as a supporting actress all the time? From her first film to Agnisakshi, Veer Zara to Special 26 and Stanley Ka Dabba, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and more, we’re yet to see a filmmaker placing the yoke of carrying a film on her shoulders, where she’s the hero! We think she’s deserving enough to be given the impetus she has earned and move us with more amazing performances.
