Audience Movie Review: Tubelight

The big Salman Khan EID release is here and as usual fans can't just keep calm. Salman Khan is reuniting with his 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' director once again. And this time he has Chinese actress Zhu Zhu and little Matin Rey Tangu besides his brother Sohail Khan with him in the movie.

So how did this Little Boy remake turn out to be. It has only been half-time and here's what our MJs at Desimatini ha sot say about the film.

Tubelight only flickers in the first half, doesn't light! While the combo of Kabir Khan and Salman Khan hold high credentials as far as their previous associations go, Tubelight could easily be placed in a different league. Based on the backdrop of Indo-Chinese war of 1962, this one is a story of two brothers Laxman and Bharat. The two brothers who are believably inseparable owing to their undying love see a major turn when Bharat has to go the war front as a part of Indian army. Laxman on the other hand is left behind in the hopes of seeing his brother again. Will his Yakeen prove to be enough to get him back? That's pretty much what the first half takes us through. Their is no doubt of the fact that Tubelight starts off slow and doesn't really bother to pace up even eventually. Salman Khan is good but his performance is far from his best. To label the film a drag would perhaps be an overstatement but Tubelight to be honest only flickers in the first half and doesn't light. SRK's much anticipated cameo is extremely dull to say the least even though it plays an important ploy in the narration. Yes seeing the two superstars sharing the screen was special but we expected much more. Let's look forward to the second half and hope things pace up which it promises to nevertheless.
