12 Bollywood Actors Who Didn't Promote Their Own Films

Bollywood celebrities leave no stone unturned to promote their movies. From reality shows to daily soaps, radio and social media, by the time a movie releases, you almost get a feeling that you're done with it! While some stars go overboard to promote their movies, some don't even bother to do so. Believe it or not, there are many instances when the biggest of stars have taken a step back and not promoted their own films for various reasons. Here’s a list of some of them.

Irrfan Khan - Haider

He personally asked Vishal not to include him in the promotions because he had a cameo. He didn't want his name to be used to publicise the movie.

Bipasha Basu - Humshakals

She openly spoke about not promoting the movie and said, "I take full responsibility of getting into a film only on the basis of trust. But after dubbing for my character in the film, as I had professionally committed to do so I'm extremely disturbed by the end result of the same... In these circumstances I didn't know how to promote a film with all honesty and that's why I thought it was better to stay away." She was really pissed off with Sajid Khan.

Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra - Dhoom 3

The reason they gave for not promoting the movie with Aamir and Katrina was that, they didn't have a song picturised on them.

Kareena and Shahid - Milenge Milenge

They had recently broken up and Kareena was seeing Saif while she was shooting for Agent Vinod. Shahid too was heart broken and the duo refused to shoot a music video for the same. The movie's fate is not hidden from anyone.

The Khiladi had a tiff with director Shirish Kunder and his wife Farah Khan, so Sonakshi held the baton to promote the movie.

She was not okay with the limelight Priyanka was gathering for her item number Babli Badmaash Hai so she stepped out of the promotions.

According to him, the makers didn't show him the final cut and he said unless  he sees the film, he can't be sure of what product is being given out so he won't promote.
