The Randeep-Aishwarya starrer Sarbjit however stayed quite low right from its release and couldn’t really garner anything substantial. Although, its low cost of production has ensured it doesn’t entail losses. After having opened a modest 3.69 crores on Friday, while the Omung Kumar directorial earned 14 crores in its opening weekend, the first week figure could only tally up to an underwhelming figure of 22 crores.

X-Men: Apocalypse on the other hand, despite a limited release and urban appeal, showed better results. The film made a total of 16 crores in its opening weekend and maintained a steady hold on weekdays too. The film by the end of its first week put on a total of 26.06 crores. What has to be held in its credit is a fantastic hold despite stiff competition from all corners.

While insiders are only considering it a temporary phase for Bollywood releases going through a rough patch, the post IPL and peak summer session may start bringing in some good news.
