OPEN LETTER : Aamir Khan Needs To Watch The AIB Roast

    Dear Aamir!

Hi! I'm Aprajita and I'm a big fan! Infact, I've seen every movie of yours from Andaz Apna Apna to PK a gazzilion times!  Before I start giving my point of view regarding why I feel that you have been a hypocrite off late, let me tell you that no one can love you the way I do, I'm such a big fangirl! Now, let's start!

This video of your's has been doing the rounds lately.

There are some of your statements I'd personally like to question here:

Do You Even Know What a Roast Is?

Quite evidently from your video I can deduce that you hated the Roast without even seeing it (or knowing what it is!) Well, that's a first! Let me first introduce you to what a roast is!

A Roast is a form of the insult comedy genre, in which the act consists mainly of offensive insults directed at the performer's audience or other performers. Typical targets for insult include individuals in the show's audience (Deepika, Sonakshi, Aaliya etc), the town hosting the performance, or the subject of a roast (Arjun and Ranveer).

What content were you expecting when you were watching the video clips of a roast sir? Bhajans and Keertans? Better watch MSG for that!

Please take a few minutes to watch this roast if you need further clarification on what roasts are!

    How Do You Define Violence?

Let me define violence for you. Violence is an INTENTIONAL use of physical force or power - threatened or actual, against oneself or another resulting in injury or psychological harm. Emphasis on the word INTENTIONAL.

Roasts are performances. Did you really think that in the AIB Roast any participant or performer flung insults at each other with the INTENTION of hurting and causing harm to the other? Let me take an example to clear my stance. Just like when in your movies there is a violent scene whereby violence is practiced against you or by you, and we get that it's a part of the movie - a part of your performance... Similarly everything that was said was a part of the participant's performance and not an intentional insult to others!

Do you remember this? "Shah Rukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more I can ask for?" He ends the entry saying, "Shah Rukh is once again begging for my attention, so let me get me get back to him. He is smelling too much. I think he needs a bath. Heel Boy, heel."

That blog entry was an intentional attempt at hurting someone else! #hi5SRKfans

Sir, for this I would like to present to you a video from a movie that you have produced and believed in.

Have you even seen Delhi Belly? Please take out time to watch it.

While you were being interviewed in Aapki Adalat you were asked by Rajat Sharma your reaction to all the fans who are angry with you for having abusive content in Delhi Belly. Sir, this was your response:

Additionally, you said that you had gone out of your way to advise viewer's descertion and also obtain an adult certificate for your movie. Here are 2 points I'd like to bring to your notice!

    a) The AIB Roast had put up a viewer's descretion warning before the roast began. They had also launched a preview of the roast before they put up the actual episode online.

    b) People who went to see the roast were aware of what a roast is, what sort of content the All India BAKCHOD has offered in the past. Knowing this they voluntarily put in money to buy tickets to see something that was being performed voluntarily.

Dear Aamir Khan, next time maybe you don't call something as a violent affair as it is your responsibility to be aware of what words you choose to express yourself, because sir, as a fan I speak for everyone when I say, what you say has an impact on us.

    Love,

    Just another fangirl

PS: I hope we can meet one day!
