Dear Aamir You Can Relax, Here Are 4 Box Office Records Sultan Will Not Break

Let’s talk of the good things first! Salman Khan’s Sultan is now officially the fastest film to gross 500 crores worldwide. The film in just 12 days since its release has stormed into the 500 crore club, which is the quickest for a Hindi film by some distance. Another good prospect for the distributors is the contribution from all the markets. While the film has done a business of 267 crores in India, an almost encouraging figure of 140 crores from overseas has added to the chunk of its worldwide collections.

While there are enough reasons for makers, Bhai fans and Bhai himself to celebrate, the film is still likely to fall short of some of the most coveted records. The milestones that really matter may not see the likes of Sultan reigning over to the top and claim victory.

So Dear Aamir Khan, you may breathe a sigh of relief because the records set by PK are looking intact.

Dear Aamir You Can Relax, Here Are 4 Box Office Records Sultan Will Not Break

Here are 4 box office records that Sultan is unlikely to break:

    Highest Grosser in India

The highest grossing film in India is Aamir Khan’s PK that’s currently sitting on a throne with a huge figure of 340 crores. The second in line is Salman’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan with total net. collections of 320 crores. For Sultan to beat PK’s lifetime record, it will have to add another 80 crores in its kitty which seems gloomy. The film has had its first major drop on Monday and with considerable competitions coming in the new few weeks, the chances of it being the highest grosser ever in India are quite low.

    Fastest To 300 Crores

Sultan has been at par with some biggies to make it to the 100 crore club in 3 days. However, it became the fastest film to make it to the 200 crore club. On the worldwide front, it became the fastest to touch the 500 crore mark but it fell shy of another record that mattered. Sultan will not be able to register itself as the fastest entrant into the 300 crore club in India. While PK made it in 17 days, it has been 14 days for Sultan at theaters already.

    Highest Worldwide Collections

So it’s Aamir who’s literally proving out to be a curse for Salman at every junction. With a colossal figure of 792 crores worldwide for PK, there’s no chance Sultan would be able to go past that milestone. The film is currently at 4th spot with Dhoom 3, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PK placed ahead. With 507 crores as its current worldwide figure, there’s no chance it can add another 300 odd crores.

    Highest Overseas Grosser

Here’s how the top 3 films in the overseas market have performed so far: PK – 303 crores, Bajrangi Bhaijaan – 193.39 crores and Dhoom 3 at 170 crores! Sultan has so far earned a total of 140 crores from overseas and it doesn’t appear the film will get anywhere close to PK. So that’s another record that remains intact for Aamir Khan’s PK.

Sultan may have taken box office by storm and shattered a lot of box office records, ultimately what seems to have played a major factor is PK’s immensely positive response from all over the world. The film banked on two top brands in the country: Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani!
