The Ups And Downs Of Shahid Kapoor's Career!

Despite having a very fluctuating trajectory, Shahid Kapoor has finally defined his niche in the industry. The 35-year-old actor who has won a million hearts with his innocent boy like looks in Ishq Vishk (2003) and has catered to the needs of a new category of audience with Haider (2014). In a career spanning over a decade, Shahid started his life as a background dancer at the age of 15 in films like 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai' and 'Taal', while he was a student at the Shiamak Davar Institute for Performing Arts. 

Debut and Box Office Result

Taking baby steps into the industry, after Ishq Vishk, Shahid delivered a power packed performance in Sooraj Barjatiya's 'Vivaah' opposite Amrita Rao. The film received a mixed response from the audience and critics but earned a whopping Rs 350 million. The very next year Imtiaz Ali's invested his trust in Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor, and the two delivered in terms of numbers and received accolades for their performance in 'Jab We Met'. In 2009, Shahid worked with another great director to deliver a blockbuster 'Kaminey'. 

Rough Patch

But after 2009 Shahid's feet became a little unstable in the industry. It took him as long as 2014 and Vishal Bharadwaj's guidelines (again) in 'Haider' to re-establish himself. 2014 has been a year of prosperity for Shahid, after Haider he won the Filmfare Award for 'The Best Actor'. 2015 started with Shahid's marriage speculations and the rumour gained steam with his engagement news in January of 2015. He tied the knot with a much younger Mira Rajput and ever since he has had good things coming his way. 

2015 was indeed a 'Shaandaar' for Shahid Kapoor and we wish the same for the forthcoming years! With his share of ups and downs, highs and lows, Shahid has settled in life and we are sure that we will see some more masterpieces from his end.
