Here's Why Twinkle Khanna Attacked Naseeruddin Shah on Twitter

Twinkle Khanna slammed Naseeruddin Shah on Twitter. This came after the veteran actor dismissed her late father's Rajesh Khanna's acting abilities.

Known for speaking his mind, actor Naseeruddin Shah criticised late Rajesh Khanna's acting prowess and the middling quality of films in his era.

In an interview, Naseeruddin Shah said, "It was the 70’s when mediocrity came in Hindi films. That’s when the actor called Rajesh Khanna joined the industry. For all his success, I think Mr Khanna was a very limited actor. In fact, he was a poor actor. Intellectually, he wasn’t the most alert person I have ever met. His taste ruled the industry."

Rajesh Khanna, who dominated Bollywood in the 1970s, is known to many as the first superstar in Indian cinema. His movies such as Kati Patang, Aradhna, Hathi Meri Sathi and Anand became hugely successful during that time.

Shah further added, "The quality of script, acting, music and lyrics deteriorated. Colour came in. You could make a heroine wear a purple dress and hero a red shirt, go to Kashmir and make a movie. You didn’t need a story. This trend continued and I certainly think Mr [Rajesh] Khanna had something to do with it because he was God in those days."

This didn't go down well with Twinkle Khanna, whose immediately came to defence of her late father. Twinkle Khanna, who is known for expressing her opinions online, certainly made her feelings known.

“Sir if you can’t respect the living, respect the dead. Mediocrity is attacking a man who can’t respond,” tweeted Twinkle.
