Vidya Balan Dancing On Shola Jo Bhadke Will Take You Back To The Black And White Era!

Vidya Balan is all set to make her marathi debut. The actress, who is known for portraying strong women characters, would be essaying the role of yeateryear's legendary actress Geeta Bali. The movie, Ekk Albela, is a biopic on Bhagwan Dada.

Vidya Balan has a knack for playing unconventional roles. She has earlier played the character of Silk Smitha, the south Indian actress who was considered the ultimate sex symbol of hr times. The versatile actress that Vidya is, it is expected that she will very effortlessly get into the skin of Geeta Bali too.

Geeta Bali was a famous actress of the 50s and 60s. She had started acting at the tender age of 12 with the film Cobbler and later became a heroine with Badnaami. She was Guru Dutt's favourite actress! She had starred in a number of films with Prithviraj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor. In 1955 she married her Coffee House co-star Shammi Kapoor. She was much ahead of her times in the sense that she never stopped acting after marraige, In fact, she died of smallpox, which she contracted which she contracted while shooting for the film Rano.
