7 Women Centric Films That Will Hit The Screens In 2017!

There are a number of movies lined up for 2017! While the first month itself looks extremely promising with big movies like Raees, Kaabil and OK Jaanu hitting the screens, there are many that have already been announced.

While many have already created a lot of anticipation, what was heartening to see was a number of woman-centric movies that will release this year! The films, though we definitely do not know the story, seems to have women at the focus. Let us have a quick look at 7 women centric films that will hit the theatres in 2017:

1. Begum Jaan:

The film, which is the remake of the Bengali film Rajkahini, is a tale about how the inmates of a brothel fight for their shelter! The film will not only mark the debut of the extremely talented Bengali film-maker Srijit Mukherji, but also boasts of a steller cast that includes actresses like Vidya Balan and Gauhar Khan amongst many!

2. Naam Shabana:

The prequel of Baby, Naam Shabana will have Tapasee Pannu playing the lead role. It will also have Akshay Kumar. We have already got the news of how intensely Tapasee had been training in mixed martial arts, Kudo and Krav Maga!

3. Noor:

Sonakshi Sinha has already made a place for herself as the next action queen of Bollywood, We have seen her fight the baddies in Akira. She will be seen playing a journalist and the film will show her mishaps and her love life when she goes to Mumbai.

4. Haseena: The Queen Of Mumbai

The film is based on the life of underworld don, Dawood Ibrahim's sister, Haseena Parker! Shraddha Kapoor will be playing the titular character and her brother will also debut with this movie.

5. Simran

The story of the movie has not been revealed yet, but we can hope that this can be one of the best movies of the year! Reason- it is directed by Hansal Mehta and will star Kangana Ranaut!

6. Tumhari Sulu

The film, whose release date has not yet been announced, will have Vidya Balan in the lead role!

7. Padmavati

Though this Sanjay Leela Bhansali film will have Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in it, it seems that the focus of the story will be on Deepika Padukone who will play the titular role in the film. It looks like it will be a portrayal of the valour of the queen of Chittor, Rani Padmavati!
