Rajinikanth Honoured With The Prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, I & B Minister Prakash Javadekar Announces

Superstar Rajinikanth is has been awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Award for his contribution to Indian cinema. The announcement was made by Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on Twitter where he congratulated the actor and thanked the jury.

The Dadasheb Phalke Award is the highest honour in cinema in the country and is awarded to film personalities for their outstanding contribution to the advancement of cinema in the country. With this coveted honour Rajinikanth joins the league of iconic stars like Amitabh Bachchan, V K Murthy, Vinod Khanna, D Ramanaidu, Shashi Kapoor, Manoj Kumar, Gulzar, Raj Kapoor, K Viswanath, Dev Anand, Yash Chopra among several others.
