Shankar's 2.0 is being deemed as the biggest release of not just the Tamil film industry but one of the biggest in the entire Indian film industry altogether. The film has been made with a budget of 545 crores and this right now the most expensive film ever made in India, surpassing the budget of Thugs Of Hindustan by 300 crores! The film has grand VFX, which is the reason for the soaring budget.

Well, the film is in all way comparable to another film from the south industry that dethroned Bollywood films- Baahubali. And now it looks like 2.0 makers have also decided to take over Baahubali head-on. That is why 2.0 has already broken some of the records that Baahubali had set, even before release!
Well, for starters, 2.0 has collected a soaring amount with its pre-release advance. The film has already made a good 120 crores, thanks to the advance bookings. This also makes the film the first ever to make 100 crores just with the pre-release advance.

2.0 will also have the highest ever screen count. The film will release in 6,600-6,800 screens in India and some 3500 screens worldwide, making it a total of 10,000 screen counts in total. Baahubali had a total 9000 screen count!
Will 2.0 be able to dethrone Baahubali:The Conclusion? Only time will tell.
