It seems like ages when we could freely go out and enjoy a film on the big screen with our close ones, with popcorns and refreshments. The COVID pandemic had hit the theatres hard, and business was closed for a year almost. While theatres did open a few months back, the scare of COVID and 50% occupancy affected collections of films and makers opted to wait. Now, finally, theatres have opened to 100% occupancy rate and we also have the first major release- the horror-comedy Roohi, starring Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma. And it looks like the film has benefitted well from the Maha Shivratri holiday, despite the scare of the virus.

The first day box-office collection of the film is out and we must say that it is pretty decent, given the circumstances. The film, on the first day, collected Rs. 3.06 crores in total. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Rs. 1.89 crores came from the national multiplexes, while the rest was contributed by the Tier 2 cities. See the tweet here:

Well, that's a pretty good start and the collections will hopefully go up over the weekend. We believe that the film will be able to collect Rs. 10-12 crores on its first weekend.
