Shang Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings becomes the highest opener in India this year, collects 3.25 crores on Day 1

Shang Chi And The Legend of Ten Rings was one of the most awaited films of the year from Hollywood. Well, one of the biggest reasons is that this is an MCU superhero origin story and we wouldn't quite want to miss it, given the hero would have something way more to offer in the universe. And thanks to the appeal of MCU, Shang Chi managed to get the biggest opening in theatres in recent times.

According to Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film collected a good 3.21 crores INR on Friday, i.e., on Day 1. That is a great number, given many theatres across the nation are not open. This is also the biggest number of recent times, with Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom making around 2.50 crores INR on Day 1 and Roohi collecting a little more than 3 crores INR on its first day. The number should now go up since Saturdays are partial holidays and Sundays are complete holidays in most places.

We can hope that Shang Chi will bring back luck for the theatre owners who have claimed to be on ventilators after the long lockdowns. Have you watched Shang Chi already? Let us know in the comments.
