With an estimated budget of 210 crores, Thugs of Hindostan may turn out to be the most expensive Bollywood movie of all time.  Based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s period novel Confessions of a Thug, the film is laced with extreme visual effects and majestic setting. It’s quite safe to assume the film will be grand in its story telling and hence the expected box office performance.

With Aamir Khan holding the honor of being credited with top two highest grossing movies of all time in the looks of Dangal and PK , it’s pretty safe to assume Thugs will looks to surpass both of them. Dangal in fact had almost opened the 400 crore club last year when it made a lifetime domestic biz of 387 crores while PK as Christmas 2014 release had made 340. Aamir in the last decade has delivered highest grossing movies of five times including Ghajini , 3 Idiots, Dhoom 3, PK and Dangal. With him bettering his record each time, it’s a safe bet to conclude Thugs is opening the 400 crore club for us. The last time he and filmmaker Victor Acharya collaborated, they brought us the record breaking Dhoom 3.

Thugs of Hindostan is an Epic Period Action Adventure

Bollywood has rarely been treated with a movie of this genre and it could not have asked for any other team but this to put things underway. While ably handled period movies like Padmaavat, Baahubali and Bajirao Mastani have done exceptionally well in the recent past, this one adds more value with action, adventure treasuring the prospects. The film is currently being shot in Malta and parts of Thailand.
