4 Bollywood Singers Who Were Dropped At The Last Moment!
Bollywood is a powerhouse of talent. Not just the actors, but the off-camera crew members are also extremely talented and almost as famous as those we see on-screen. Take for example the playback singers. We love to hear them sing and in some of the songs, we feel that no one could have given a better rendition to the song than them.
But unfortunately, many a time, our favourite singers are pitched for a song, even sing it but are dropped just at the last moment for numerous reasons! Here are 4 Bollywood singers whose songs where dropped at the last moment and another singer sang it:
1. Jag Ghoomeya- Sultan
The Sultan song was originally to be sung by Arijit Singh. He had even recorded for the song but on Salman Khan's insistence, the song was dropped and it was again recorded by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Arijit and Salman had some minor miscommunication at an award show, which left Salman miffed at the singer. He had also pleaded to Salman to keep his song in the film, but Bhai did not budge from his decision!
2. Tu Hi Hai- Dear Zindagi
The original was sung by Ali Zafar, who was also a part of the film on-screen. But due to an ongoing controversy about Pakistani actors in Bollywood, the makers re-recorded the song with Arijit Singh. The original was retained in the film, while the Arijit Singh version was used for promotions!
3. Jhoom Barabar Jhoom title track
The Jhoom Barabar Jhoom title track was originally to be sung by Daler Mehendi. But controversy ensued after he found out that his version of the song was not in the film or the album. The song was sung by Shankar Mahadevan, and the trio told Daler Mehndi that Amitabh Bachchan did not want his version of the song. He however cleared that he does not believe this and held the music directors guilty!
4. Khaike Paan Banaras Wala- Don: The Chase Begins
The song was to be sung by Sonu Nigam, but it was finally sung by Udit Narayan!
