5 Hollywood Actors Who Were Fired Or Replaced In Marvel Cinematic Universe
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is one of the most successful film models of all time. Numerous comic book characters have their own franchises which have earned billions of dollars collectively and we have seen these characters coming together in The Avengers which is a franchise of its own. All the events of other films are intricately woven with the plot and the movies smartly incorporate events of other films from the MCU.
A job as a Marvel superhero not only brings in money but also a loyal fanbase. People get attached to the actors portraying their favorite superhero onscreen and whenever there is a talk of that actor leaving that role, fans start online petitions or personally plead to the actors, producers or the studio heads to not change the casting. Still, Marvel has fired and replaced a few actors. Here are 5 of them:
Edward Norton: The actor appeared in 2008's The Incredible Hulk which was a part of the MCU and Robert Downey Jr. also made a cameo as Tony Stark. He was slated to appear as The Hulk in The Avengers but was fired as he kept having creative differences with the writers, director, and the producers. Marvel hired Mark Ruffalo as his replacement.
Terrance Howard: The actor appeared as James Rhodes in 2008's Iron Man which kicked off the MCU in style and his role was appreciated. But, he asked for a massive pay hike in Iron Man 2 and the studio fired him. Don Cheadle now stars as James Rhodes/War Machine.
Josh Dallas: The actor appeared as Fandral in Thor, Chris Hemsworth first outing as the hammer-wielding God of Thunder. He was to reprise his role in the sequel as well but couldn't due to commitments to other projects. he was replaced by Zachary Levi.
Damian Portier: He first appeared as Thanos in The Avengers but was replaced by Josh Brolin in the upcoming Infinity War.
Dominic Cooper: He appeared as Howard Stark in Captain America's first outing in 2011 but actor John Slattery appeared as Howard Stark in Captain America: Civil War.
