5 Popular South Stars Who Will Appear In South Remakes Of Bollywood Films In 2018
Bollywood enjoys a healthy give and take relationship with the film industries of the south. While both the industries have a fan following in hundreds of millions, Bollywood somewhat gains an advantage in terms of the number of audiences and the areas Hindi language films cater to. Some of the biggest blockbusters of Bollywood are the remakes of Tamil, Telegu or Kannada films.
The trend has been going for a long time now and the film industries of the South have also remade Bollywood movies in their regions and languages. The main reason for remaking a Hindi film into a regional film is to deliver the message/story in the right sense as has been stated by various filmmakers and actors from the south. This year too, these leading South celebs will be starring in remakes of Bollywood films:
Tamannaah Bhatia: The actress will star in the Tamil remake of Kangana Ranaut starrer hit film Queen. The film is titled Queen Once Again and will be a quintessential chick flick. The film is directed by Neelakanta Reddy.
Prashanth: The actor will step into the shoes of Neil Nitin Mukesh in the remake of thriller Johnny Gaddar which was released in 2007. The Tamil remake is titled Johnny and is directed by Vetriselvan.
Trisha Krishnan: The actress will appear in the Tamil remake of Anushka Sharma starrer NH 10. The film is titled Garjanai and is directed by Sundar Bala.
Rana Daggubati: The actor will star in the bilingual film Haathi Mere Saathi which is a remake of the Rajesh Khanna starrer film of the same name which was a huge hit at the box-office.
Suriya: The actor starred in the remake of Akshay Kumar starrer Special 26 this year which was titled Thaanaa Serndha Koottam. The film was a big hit at the box-office.
