After a delay of 2 weeks, Akshay Kumar starrer Padman will finally hit the cinema-screens tomorrow. First, the film was supposed to clash with Aiyaary on Republic Day weekend but on Sanjay Leela Bhansali personal request, Akshay decided to postpone the release of his film to 9th February. Aiyaary, which had already moved to 9th Feb. couldn't get a clearance from the Defence Ministry will now release next week.
Its a blessing in disguise for Padman as the film has a clear week ahead of it and is the only major release this weekend. The film will also benefit from Akshay Kumar's stardom and the actor has been on a roll and has given 5 back to back hits. The film is inspired by the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham and is based on the book Legend of Lakshmi Prasad by Twinkle Khanna. Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor also star in major roles.
