6 Bollywood Actors Who Did Not Take Losing An Award In The Best Spirit
Bollywood is jam packed with some very competitive actors who work exceptionally hard for all the films they sign and also ensure that they get their due credits. In 2016 Bollywood saw some of the best movies and performances and with the awards season already in full swing, we are sure that the juries are having a hard time making their selection of the very best in the league. With so many incredible performances to adjudg,e someone will ultimately go home unhappy, but that doesn’t mean that they are not vocal about being left out. There are so many actors we have heard about who were unhappy losers at the awards and did not shy away from expressing their disappointment. Here is a list of actors who got miffed over losing out at the awards.
Harshvardhan Kapoor – The actor made his debut with Rakesh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya in 2016 for which he really put in a lot of effort. The film sadly did not miracles at the box office and so did Harshvardhan’s acting, which never impressed the Filmfare jury enough to give away the best debut award to him. He lost to Diljit Dosanjh who made his debut in Udtaa Punjab and Harshvardhan took to Twitter to express his grievances. He targeted Diljit saying that he never deserved the award as he is already an established actor in Punjabi movies.
Sushant Singh Rajput – He is of the very hard working new comers in Bollywood and has delivered some spectacular performances in his few years in Bollywood, the last being M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, where he was very much appreciated and the film did wonders at the box office. But again in the awards category he was left behind in the popular choice awards. He was quoted saying in an interview to DNA, when asked about losing out on the awards "I won't lie. If I'm there to witness the awards, I do feel slightly awkward when I don't win. A bit of acknowledgment from you folks could be a nice feeling." Having stated his disappointment he added, "Having said that, me getting or not getting an award does not in any manner affect the way I go about my next project or my equation with my work."

Sonam Kapoor – Her performance in Neerja was widely appreciated and she was on cloud nine for doing wonders in the film. But at the first awards’ night for the year 2016, Sonam lost out the best actress award to Alia Bhatt for Udtaa Punjab and the entire matter ran into a controversy as to how it the awards were politicized in favor of Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt.
Deepika Padukone – She gave some stellar performances in 2015 including Bajirao Mastani and Piku. After getting much acclaim for both projects, it was Kangana Ranaut who went ahead and bagged the National Award for her performance in Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Deepika apparently never took losing very kindly, especially when she had won all other popular awards. She did not even attend the success party that Sanjay Leela Bhansali threw for the Bajirao Mastani team.

Anushka Sharma – Her debut film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi in 2008 did wonders at the box office and also set her up in high hopes for winning the best debut Filmfare award in 2009. She admitted to being incredibly upset over losing and even crying after the event, when Asin won the award for Gajini. Anushka had apparently calculated her chances at winning and also thought that Asin was an established actress from the south which did not make her eligible.

Kareena Kapoor – The ever competitive Kareena lost the best debut award to Ameesha Patel at the Zee Cine Awards 2002. Kareena who was compensated with another award, did not flinch in actually showing how pissed she was over losing. She made her debut in the 2001 flop Refugee, while Ameesha bagged the award for Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, which was a project Kareena had actually walked out of!
