Qaidi Band & Lucknow Central: Both the films released in 2017 and both were flops. They were based on a similar theme, inmates forming a band while planning a jailbreak. Both films failed to resonate with the audiences and while Lucknow Central earned 11.57 Crores, Qaidi Band tanked with 0.35 Crores.
Rahasya & Talvar: Both the films were based on the Aarushi Murder Case and both released in 2015. Rahasya starred Kay Kay Menon in the lead while Talvar was led by Irrfan Khan. Both the films received positive acclaim but Rahasya flopped with collections of 1.11 Crores and Talvar became a semi-hit with collections of 30.65 Crores.
Murder & Hawas: Both Bollywood films were an adaptation of 2002 Hollywood film Unfaithful that was based on an extramarital affair. Murder propelled Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat to stardom and became a super hit with collections of 15.01 Crores while Hawas flopped with collections of 2.15 Crores.
Legend Of Bhagat Singh & Shaheed: Both the films were based on legendary freedom fighter Shaheed Bhagat Singh. One starred Ajay Devgn while other featured Bobby Deol and the titular character. Both films flopped with collections of 7.44 Crores and 7.60 Crores.
Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey & Chittagong: Both films were based on the Chittagong Uprising that was led by Masterda Surya Sen. Manoj Bajpayee led Chittagong while Abhishek Bachchan led Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey. While both films received positive reviews, both flopped at the box office.
