Bollywood Parents Launching Their Kids With These Films Prove They Did Not Want Their Kids To Be In Bollywood
In an industry that takes pride in setting up nepotistic legacies, we have on more occasions than one seen it get tremendously misfired. Now how do you define the flag bearer of suspense genre in India Abbas Burmawala setting up the most crooked stage for his own son? Some of the filmmakers/film producers have been so complacently blinded with their art that in the endeavor of launching their sons & daughters, they actually lynched their careers. Here are 8 of those geniuses who gave their children the worst debut they could have thought of, or as Circuit from Munnabhai would say, "Bhai Inka career toh shuru hote hi khatam ho Gaya"
Mustafa Burmawalla
Director duo Abbas-Mustan has given Bollywood many iconic thrillers such as Baazigar, Race, Race 2 or Aitraaz which on to become some of the biggest hits of Bollywood. But, when the time came for Abbas’ son, Mustafa Burmawalla’s debut, they decided to make Machine! A complete facepalm worthy film, it is unbelievable that Abbas Mustan chose the worst film of their career to launch their son with.
Harman Baweja
A sci-fi story, a teddy bear robot, bad VFX, a ridiculous storyline and a Priyanka Chopra with flaming red hair, Love Story 2050 was recipe for disaster. The fact that popular producer Harry Baweja chose this film to be the launch pad of his own son Harman Baweja is a clear indication that Harry did not want Harman to have a career in Bollywood, but did not have the heart to tell him so and thus designed a debut film so bizarre that it would compel Harman to question his decision of joining films.
Jaccky Bhagnani
It is a little hard to fathom that a seasoned producer like Vashu Bhagnani launched his son Jaccky Bhagnani with a dud of a film called Kal Kissne Dekha and then expected him to have a decent career in Bollywood.
Fardeen Khan
This one is a classic. It seems yesteryear superstar Feroz Khan produced Prem Aggan and had his son Fardeen Khan make his debut with a film to teach him some lesson. Because there is no way Feroze Khan thought that this so-bad-that-its-good classic would help Fardeen’career in any possible way.
Juhi Babbar
Suppose you are the daughter of one of the most revered actors in Bollywood and your mother who is noted theatre artist of the country decides to produce your debut film. A recipe for a superhit career, right? Well, wrong. Nadira Babbar decided to launch her daughter Juhi Babbar with a total eyesore of a movie named Kaash Aap Humare Hote which had Sonu Nigam in the lead role, and that is after seeing his acting in Jaani Dushman. We wonder what Juhi must have done to attract such wrath from her own mother!
Shiv Darshan
One of the most successful producers of Bollywood, Suneel Darshan launched his own son, Shiv Darshan with a venture that is one painful cinematic experience named Karle Pyaar Karle. Maybe it was kinder to lock him up in a room if Suneel Darshan was against his acting aspiration but being this harsh to your own son, why Suneel Darshan why?
Anand Aur Anand
Yet another superstar parent Dev Anand produced and directed his son, Sunil Anand’s debut film Anand Aur Anand. Apart from the poetically creative title, the movie had drunk elephants (you read that right) and a ridiculous plot line.
Virodhi
Much before the world was exposed to the masterpiece named Jaani Dushman, Rajkumar Kohli launched his darling son Armaan Kohli with a really sad movie named Virodhi which made Dharmendra one of the most shameful performances of his career. I mean the film had 11 villains for crying out loud! Now given his temper issues, we are sure Armaan Kohli is not an easy son to raise, but Rajkumar Kohli perhaps was a little too harsh in taking such extreme measures to teach his son a lesson.
