Ishq Mithha From Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga Is A Weird Cocktail That Do Not Work

After impressing the audience with the title track, the makers of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga has released yet another song from the film.

The film which stars Sonam Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles is being directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar is slated for 1^st February 2019 releases. The new song from the film, Ishq Mitha is a typical Punjabi wedding number, however, there are some issues with the song as well. Here are our takeaways from the song.

The Sounds Do Not Blend

The song starts off with the tune of Kajra Mohabbat Wala, goes into a typical Punjabi wedding banter and then suddenly jumps to 90s indie superhit Gud Naal Ishq Mitha originally sung by Bally Sagoo. However, the problem is, the tunes do not blend in with each other, at all. Individually, the tunes and the remake works, but the mixing sticks out like a sore thumb. Somehow it’s a really unsettling feeling!

Too Much Remake With Too Less Impact

Ok, we do not particularly have a problem with remakes, but can we please get people to use remakes in moderation? The first song of the film was a good one, but it was a remake. OK, we can deal with that because it sounds beautiful. But the second song is not a remake of one but two songs, that do not even blend properly. That’s just too much remake with not enough impact.

Reveals A Little About A Few Important Characters

The song is set in the backdrop of a wedding and the picturization is actually pretty beautiful. We see characters played by Regina Cassandra and Akshay Oberoi. It is pretty clear that Akshay Oberoi is going to be the boy tto whom Sonam’s marriage in the film is fixed and it also shows us that Sonam and Regina’s characters are like chalk and cheese. While Sonam is a shy and reserved person, Regina has a vivacious personality.

How Amazingly Charming Is Anil Kapoor?

Despite the somewhat weird sound mixing, the song is worth it simply because of Anil Kapoor. Seeing him dance to the tunes of Gud Naal Ishq Mitha is a treat in itself. Also, it is kinda adorable to see Sonam and Anil Kapoor dancing together on screen.
