Super 30 Trailer: Hrithik Roshan Makes It Worth The Wait, Promises A Real And Motivating Story

After waiting for what seems like an eternity, the trailer of Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 is finally here. Initially, the film was supposed to be a proper biopic of Anand Kumar, who coached underprivileged IIT aspirants, but later on, after fraud accusations on Kumar the film was tweaked a little and the story was just inspired by Anand Kumar instead.

Starring Hrithik Roshan and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles, the film has been in the center of many controversies. After a lot of delays, the film will finally hit the theatres on July 12^th, 2019. However, keeping all of that aside the makers have finally released the trailer and this is what we think about it.

Hrithik Roshan Like Never Seen Before

It is not an easy job to convince people that someone as drop dead gorgeous as Hrithik Roshan is a middle-aged maths teacher in Bihar. To the movie’s credits, it has managed to do that. But the lion’s share of the credit is reserved for Hrithik himself who has truly immersed himself into the character both in terms of look and mannerisms. One cannot see the Greek God Hrithik Roshan here and can indeed believe that he is a simple maths teacher from Bihar with a rare spirit.

The Accent

The fact that Hrithik Roshan has worked hard to get the Bihari accent right is evident, however, the problem is, it is a little too evident. It is visible that Hrithik is putting in some serious efforts to get the nuances of the accent right and it is a little distracting. After the excruciating pain that was Batti Gul Meter Chalu, we know what bad accent can do to a film viewing experience.

Real and Inspiring

While the story of the film which is based on true incidents, is amazingly inspiring and frankly, quite dramatic, the film inhabits a place that is fairly real. In fact, the balance between drama and reality seems pretty great and that is good news.

Background Music

The background music of the film deserves a special mention here. Instead of being the cliché inspiring ‘dhan te nan’ music, the BGM sounds fresh and youthful. The story is about the ambitions of underprivileged youth as much as it is about teacher-student bond which Bollywood has mostly represented with sappy music, but here the music is very Gully Boy-esque and we only mean it as a compliment.

Might Draw Comparisons With Aarakshan

Whether it’s the space of the film, the topic, the personalities or the world, Super 30 might just remind you of Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan a little bit. In fact, Aarakshan was also somewhat inspired by Anand Kumar story thus the comparison seems unavoidable. Apart from that, the small town set up, the angle of limited access to quality education for underprivileged students all are pretty much on the lines.
