Yash Chopra’s blockbuster cross border romance Veer Zaara completed 15 years since its release and the film is certainly a lot of nostalgia for the fans of this Shah Rukh Khan film. The romance had Rani Mukerji playing a Pakistani lawyer and was a daughter figure to SRK’s character Veer. The actress who has previously romanced the Bollywood actor in movies like Kuch Kuch Hota and Chalte Chalte has spoken up about how this change of equation for Veer Zaara panned out and has admitted that is was rather awkward for the two of them.

Rani also revealed that while shooting together Shah Rukh and her would often break into fits of laughter and it would really annoy Yash ji and Aditya Chopra. In an interview with HT City she said, “I remember was seeing Shah Rukh in the old avatar which was really awkward for both of us. Before this I had always romanced him and in this film he had to look at me with the imagery of a daughter and I had to look at him as a father figure, which was a bit tough. Romancing Shah Rukh is much easier.”

The actress who is gearing up for Mardaani 2 further recounted memories of working with the iconic filmmaker Yash Chopra and said, “Just to shoot with him was an experience by itself because when you shoot with a master like him you realise how great he is. His greatness was that he would never see the monitor! He was always behind the cameraman watching us and okaying the shots which was very new for me because the directors who I had worked with, used to be just very close to the monitor because that became the new-age thing to do.”

Veer Zaara also starred Preity Zinta as Zaara and the swept all the major awards that year.
