5 Reasons Why Salman Khan Reprising 'Oh O Jaane Jaana' Is The Worst 90s Throwback Idea Ever

Recently Salman Khan has announced that he would be reprising his popular number ‘Oh O Jaane Jaana’ from the 1998 film Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya , for Isabelle Kaif’s debut film. While a section of fans would be excited by the news, we do not think it is a good idea at all.

Not that we don’t love these iconic songs with its iconic steps, but we love it too much to see yet another of our cherished memories of the 90s be ruined. It is high time Bollywood stops tampering with our beloved and iconic songs and stops making insipid attempts. Here are 5 reasons why Salman Khan reprising ‘Oh O Jaane Jaana’ is the worst 90s throwback idea ever.

    Dance Number
Salman Khan has never been the best dancer in the industry; however, he put considerable effort in this song which was a dance number through and through. However, with the passage of time Salman Khan’s dance skills have only worsened. There is no way would be able to do justice to the choreography now and what’s the point of even doing ‘Oh O Jaane Jaana’ if you don’t put the iconic hook step in it

    Not Very Age Appropriate
When Salman Khan did Pyaar Kiya To Darna Hai in1998, he was 33. No matter how much we love Bhai and gush at his age defying persona, he dancing on a stage with an electric guitar (which is not plugged btw) crooning to his future ‘dilruba’ would be too much of a stretch and definitely not age appropriate. We loved him as the lover boy but we have also loved his grown-up avatar, going back in time is never a good idea.

    The Unmistakable 90s Flavor
The song brings back so many memories for all millennials like us. From the music, to the lyrics to the whole vibe of the song has an unmistakable 90s flavor. It will not blend seamlessly in the present context but ruin our fond memories of the song in the process. This is one of the worst 90s throwback idea ever. This song belongs so much to the 90s that it should be left there.

Bad Track Record of Reprised Songs
This is probably not the best time in Bollywood to reprise classics. He should probably take a look at the trolls and flak that drowned his good friend Jacqueline for trying to re-create the iconic ‘Ek Do Teen’ for Baaghi 2 . Classics are called classics for a reason and they are not to be tampered with.

    No Kamaal Khan
Not that there is a possibility that Arijit Singh would sing the reprised version of the song, but even if he did that would not compensate for the original track. Singer Kamal Khan who sang the real one might not be the most popular singer ever, but it would be a sacrilege to even imagine any other voice in the song. We highly doubt that the makers would rope in the forgotten singer to sing the song and anybody else singing the song is something nobody would be happy about
