Abhay Deol Points Out Bollywood's Hypocrisy Says Him And Farhan Akhtar Were 'Demoted' To Supporting Actors For ZNMD

Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is one of those feel-good films about friendship and living life to its fullest that one can revisit over and over again. Moreover, the incredible trio of Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar and Hrithik Roshan set the friendship goals.

Abhay Deol in a post today remembered the film and said that the title of the film is something that he finds himself chanting on a regular basis these days. The actor also revealed how despite being the film being based on the three friends, he and Farhan were ‘demoted’ as supporting actors when the award shows came around. He also mentioned that Hrithik and Katrina earned nominations in the leading actors' categories.

The actor who boycotted the awards that year added, “So by the industry’s own logic, this was a film about a man and a woman falling in love, with the man supported by his friends for whatever decisions he takes.”

Abhay took this instance to highlight Bollywood’s hypocrisy and added, “There are many covert and overt ways in which people in the industry lobby against you. In this case it was shamelessly overt.”

He also mentioned that Farhan Akhtar was ‘ok’ with it and attended the award shows.

Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara had released in 2011.
