Adhyayan Suman Says Not Nepotism But 'Groupism' Is The Real Issue, Reveals He Lost 14 Projects Because Of It

After Sushant Singh Rajput's death on June 14th, a storm has stirred up on social media. While netizens focused on mental issues initially, they are now seeking justice for Sushant by asking for a CBI investigation, besides blaming nepotism for the tragic end of the bright and talented actor. Shekhar Suman has been vocal about it as well, and had visited Sushant's home in Patna to meet his father. Now, his son Adhyayan has addressed the 'nepotism' debate and said that it isn't the real problem.

Talking to HT, he said, "I was talking to dad about this, this debate is wrong. It is actually groupism.” He further added, “As even Sushant (Singh Rajput) said, the problem is only when star kids are being pushed ahead. My point is if that was the case, we wouldn’t have Ayushmann Khurrana or Rajkummar Rao. And Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan — they must have got it easy for a couple of years, but if today, someone tells me Ranbir is not a good actor, I will slap them. They have the X-factor.”

In another interview, he went on to say that he had lost as many as 14 projects because of 'groupism' in Bollywood. Talking to Bollywood Bubble, he said, "Power dynamics and groupism are there in the industry since years. It happened to me too. My 14 films were shelved and the box-office collection of my films was projected wrongly. People haven’t paid attention to this earlier. It’s very unfortunate that we required a Sushant Singh Rajput to commit suicide for people to realise," adding that he wants to tell people- 'Don’t fight on nepotism but fight for groupism, camps that exist in the industry and the production houses that don’t allow talented actors in the industry’.
