Shahid Kapoor Refuses Remake of Dear Comrade

After Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor Turned Down Hindi remake of Vijay Devrakonda’s Dear Comrade?

Recently, south superstar Vijay Deverakonda was spotted at the Mumbai airport and a lot of them were wondering the purpose behind his visit. Surprisingly the reason Vijay came to Mumbai was to show his film Dear Comrade to Karan Johar and soon after the special screening for him, Karan took to his Instagram handle and officially announced that he has bought the rights of the south Indian film Dear Comrade and would soon make a Hindi remake of the film.

Just after the news came out, reports were doing rounds that Karan Johar will cast the Dhadak duo Janhvi and Ishaan as the lead pair of Dear Comrade but Karan rubbished all the rumors and clarified on Twitter that the cast hasn't been decided yet.  “All the best and big success to the team of #DearComradeOnJuly26th! Also a CLARIFICATION! No lead actors have been considered or approached for the film as yet! The planning for this lovely film is underway!”

Now as per a Mumbai Mirror report, Karan offered the lead role of Dear Comrade to Shahid Kapoor but it seems like the actor is not interested to do another remake of Vijay Deverakonda's Telugu hit film. Recently Shahid played the main lead in Kabir Singh which was the remake of  Vijay Deverakonda’s  Arjun Reddy and that turned out to be a box office blockbuster.

On professional front, Shahid hasn’t signed any film post-Kabir Singh but according to reports Shahid is in talks with Raj Kumar Gupta for a movie but there is no official confirmation regarding the same. After the huge success of Kabir Singh, rumors were that Shahid has decided to hike his fees to around 35 crores, however, the actor shut down these rumors and said he needs to sign a film before increasing his fees.
