Akshay Kumar Hospitalized After Contracting Novel Coronavirus

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar took to his official social media handle yesterday morning to announce that he had tested positive for novel coronavirus. He shared that he is following all the necessary protocols and was under home quarantine. Akshay tweeted: “Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I'm under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action very soon.”

However, reports suggested that Akshay was hospitalized in the evening yesterday after he contracted the virus. ETimes revealed that he was admitted to the Hiranandani hospital in Powai, Mumbai for treatment. Well, the actor has now confirmed the same on social media. Take a look at the post shared by him:

Meanwhile, the shoot of his upcoming film Ram Setu has come to a halt for now. Also starring Nushrratt Bharuccha and Jacqueline Fernandez, the Abhishek Sharma directorial went on floors just a few days ago. Other than Akshay, actor Govinda also tested positive for novel coronavirus yesterday following mild symptoms. His wife Sunita recently recovered from the virus. Govinda is under home quarantine and has requested his fans and followers to take all necessary precautions amid the pandemic to stay safe and healthy.
