Akshay Kumar: I Contribute To My Country Through My Films, This Is My Job

Akshay Kumar was once the Khiladi Kumar of Bollywood. In all his films the word ‘Khiladi” would be ever-present. The versatile actor has not stopped giving us a good dollop of action in his films but Akshay has been seen doing a lot of socially relevant films that touch the milieu we live in nearly.

He was seen in some patriotic films like Mission Mangal, Airlift, he has done films like Padman, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha so on and so forth and he continues to be part of such films. He was the one actor who was chosen to interview PM Modi just before the Lok Sabha elections in the year 2019.

Recently at Agenda Aaj Tak held in Delhi, Akshay was asked whether he would ever consider joining politics or not. to which the actor replied, “Never, I want to be happy. I love films and I contribute to my country through my films. This is my job.”

He further went on to elucidate what he tries to achieve through the medium he is so much part of. Said he, “I don’t believe in thinking about what the country has given you, but what you can give to the country. For example, you pick a captain of a cricket team, and now it is the team’s responsibility to listen to him. Follow the leader. Koi bhi party ka ho, let him lead the country, because chuna toh aap hi logon ne hai.”
