Ali Fazal Losses His Grandfather, Sums Up His Emotions In A Heartbreaking Note: I Say Goodbye To Another Version Of Me Again

Ali Fazal lost his grandfather on Saturday. The actor penned an emotional note on the somber occasion on social media sharing a few pictures and spoke about the relationship he has shared with his Nana.

“He Fathered me. Took me in from when i can remember because my parents were living separate lives. So while my father was out somewhere in the middle east, its Nana who smothered me with love, took care of me. Along with Nani,” the actor wrote.

In this time of grief, Ali also spoke about the pain and suffering that the world is going through and added, “So many are suffering across the country so we can too. Rightfully so. But its fkin broken me today...again. And as i bid him farewell, i say goodbye to another version of me again. In the quantum observatory this is yet another of another heh.”

The Mirzapur actor also spoke about his Nana’s wish for his funeral and how he said he did not like morbid. “He wanted me to crack a joke on his funeral he had said once. “Koi lateefa sunaa dena, i dont like morbid” . So today i left a small chit in the grave that said - “ Say cheese “ . Was an inside joke - quite literally now. But yea. ???. Gustaakhi maaf,” actor said in his parting note.

Ali’s girlfriend Richa in the comments posted several broken heart emojis and wrote ‘Nana’. Several others too condoled Ali’s loss and prayed for his grandfather’s soul including Huma Qureshi, Pooja Bhatt, Hazel Keech, Pulkit Samrat, Guneet Monga, Nitya Mehra among others.
